So I naturally developed a little following with the Baby Gordita blog and then promptly did what I always do, which is stop writing in it! We've been traveling a bit, and also it feels like not much is really happening that would be fascinating to all you readers out there (I suspect my loyal readers are not interested in the aches, pains and digestive problems that I spend most of my life dwelling on right now).
Ms. Gordita has been the little globetrotter in the past month. She swam with the fishes in Kauai last month and this month visited the Low Country of South Carolina. Next week she and I are going on an overnighter to Vegas for a quickie business trip (and I wonder if she's going to hate Vegas in June as much as I do). Here are some vacation pix as well as a chronicle of the ever-expanding belly:

This is not a belly picture, but it's evidence of how relaxed I was (and therefore, hopefully, Gordita was) during our trip to Hawaii.
The belly has continued to grow larger. I am now in my sixth month, more or less, which means it is harder and harder for me to get and stay comfortable while lying or sitting. I'm not allowed to lie on my back very much (it squishes some major veins that carry oxygen to my lungs, so that's an incentive to obey that rule) so side sleeping is my only option, and it's uncomfortable because my stomach is so big and heavy.
Because of this, our mutliplying family has expanded once more. Now, crowded into our queen bed in the mornings are Andrew, myself, our 70-pound "puppy" (a.k.a., The Thug) and a ridiculously huge horseshoe-shaped body pillow called the Back 'N' Belly.
Our friend Micaela (mother of Logan — who is, by the way, the poster child for procreation ... he's not only super cute, but he's one of the most serene babies I've ever been around) turned me on to the Back 'N' Belly. She loved it so much she actually wrote a review of it on Amazon.com. I love it too. It's like sleeping in the middle of a big cloud, and the beautiful thing is that when I toss from side to side throughout the night I always have support without having to switch the pillow to the new side.
The problem is, you have absolutely no concept of how big this pillow is until you see it on the bed. Here's a photo that gives you some indication of what the boys have to deal with each night:

It's kind of like having three of me in bed, plus Andrew. When The Thug decides to join us at 5:30 a.m., wedging his way in between his dad and mom, the situation becomes a lot more dire. I have started to abandon the pillow at that time and opt for an hour of less comfortable sleep; otherwise, Andrew usually ends up getting shoved out of bed. (What, you thought Bentley would be the one to compromise?)
In addition to the Back 'N' Belly, I'm now using a back pillow at work, because sitting for a long time is starting to hurt!
